NC nominations

Wow, I did not know that my forum would bring this much attention .I see that there are plenty of qualified men and women. Many of have two nominations compared to my one. If I don't get an appointment I'm fine with it and will act on my fall back plans. I just know that I tried my best and I did all I could, so if I'm not appointed I enjoyed my journey.
I haven't seen a stat on the varying success of appointment with single vs. multiple noms but you do only need the one. DD has one also and I think many slots are filled that way, sometimes MOC coordinate so there is just one given. I think the only thing multiple noms does is give the Academy some options for placement. Think of what it took to get that one nom. Essays and hard work and such good character and study habits that adults were happy to write good things about you and you rose above all of the smart kids who tried for those precious spots. Don't say "only" one nomination!

If we had known then what we know now, we would have not expected an answer until after Mar. 15th. DS is now focusing on lacrosse and keeping senioritis in check. Hope you hear sooner but the fact you haven't heard anything yet can be seen as a good thing. Good luck!

we have senior signing day coming up next month at her school so between prom and that day she has something else to keep her mind busy. Senior signing day is their day to stand up in front of K-11 students and parents and announce the college of their choice. Pretty exciting day. They even stream it online. She is hoping to announce USNA. Either way it will be a fun day.

Sorry, does

Her high school does it for all colleges. She is the first one in her school history to apply to a service academy. Every year since 2009 they make a big deal about 100% of the seniors being accepted to college. We are in an underserved rural area and these students are mostly first generation college students. So we celebrate their hard work with a senior signing day.

Weird, this appointee isn't wearing the NC boys state shirt. Considering boys state is during the summer between junior and senior year, he's either wearing a shirt from someone else or he moved to NC very recently.
Nothing really important, just something to point out.
very good point indeed... paying attention to details
