I'm a Junior in Highschool, just finish my application for 2018 NASS. I have a quick concern that 'normal vision' mean 20/20? My vision is about 15/20 or worse, so no matter how competitive I am, I will not be accepted?:confused::bang:
Quick question, when will be the good time for me to start contact my congressperson for the nomination?
Thank You
So glad I found this forum:wiggle:

No you won't be disqualified. During your DoDMERB exam you'll be allowed to wear your glasses.

Also read every part of the USNA Admissions website. It provides a timeline of what you should be doing and when. Go to your MOCs websites and see when applications were due for this year’s class. Add that to your timelines. There is tons of information out there, read it, get informed and start a plan to get it completed.

My DD was nearsighted when she entered the Academy. I say was because the Navy paid for her to have PRK surgery earlier this fall. Plus, there are lots of pictures of plebes on I-Day with their lovely government issue glasses.

Do not get corrective surgery before you arrive. That will disqualify you. Show up, and get those fashionable Plebe glasses. Good luck!
