Need CFA administrator asap. Florida zone. Son mistook the deadline date as Dec 31st. Now just has 2 days to complete CFA. Is it possible?

JROTC instructors are awesome and might help you out. Or if you know any active duty military I think they can do it. Good luck.

I think any Physical Education teacher can administer as well. It might be a long shot on a holiday weekend, but he could just start reaching out in the area (most have emails listed on the school websites). I don't believe it has to be HIS teacher. Someone might be willing to help. Or both he and you could post on your social media asking for anyone local who is a JROTC instructor or a PE instructor who might be able to help you on short notice.

First, he is absolutely sure about the deadline now?

Thoughts for your son.

Per USAFA website:
Your examination may be administered by any physical education teacher, Service Academy Liaison Officer or JROTC instructor. Any active duty commissioned officer may administer the CFA for service members.

All of these will involve some degree of advanced throwing-yourself-on-the-mercy-of over a holiday break.

Any PE teacher: Any chance you can track one down or your originally planned administrator that you were scheduled to use in December?

Contact ALO. Confess failure to pay attention to detail and ask for a huge favor.

JROTC instructor: Could be any school, any service. Look on school websites for instructor names, use internet and social media to see if they are reachable and willing.

Active duty commissioned officer. Can be any service. Do you have any Reserve Centers, any service, nearby? Coast Guard stations? Reserve Centers are run by active duty Reserve personnel to support drilling units. There will be officers there who are full-time active duty. If it is a drill weekend, there will be people there. Ditto National Guard armories. There will be staff on active duty there during the week and any drill weekend. They also usually have PT facilities and a place where they do physical fitness testing. ROTC units at colleges will have active duty officers, but they will likely be on break.

A challenge. The Friday after Thanksgiving is not an official federal holiday, but military people are usually given the day off as part of a 96-hour liberty period, unless their job requires them to be on duty. Federal civilians are encouraged to take leave but are not required to do so.

Another challenge. Have you identified a suitable venue and gathered all required equipment?

Long shot: Did you take the CFA and do well at any summer program at any SA this past summer? If so, you can ask thet SA to send scores to USAFA.

Admissions strategy: Someone, federal civilians, may be at work on Friday. You can try to find someone, candidly lay out your problem, taking full accountability without excuses, and the steps you are full-press-on taking to fix it, and ask for a 10-day extension for submitting. Ten days doesn’t sound as long as 2 weeks and is at least longer than one.
No matter what, draft an email to appropriate Blue or Silver team, brief and to the point, outlining the problem and the immediate steps you are taking to resolve it, asking for an after-the-fact extension if you haven’t talked to anyone that day, or documenting how you did manage to get it done and noting the day your administrator submitted results. Again, taking full accountability without excuses.

Human beings make mistakes. It’s what you do to fix them is what gives the measure of a person, and what you learn from it going forward.

A searingly memorable bit of coaching I got from a prior enlisted “mustang” officer in the Navy, my first department head: “Ensign Captmj, you may have good reasons for doing/not doing X, but you have no ^%},?¥%@$ EXCUSE.”

Oh - and if you find someone, military people cannot accept personal gratuities of any kind, not expected or required. But - a big box of donuts or cupcakes for the office team on Monday or other treat to be shared by many, is fine.

And welcome new member of just a few hours!

Thank you for the response and hopeful actions. We did contact some coaches, PE teachers, retired major.
Yes we have AFB and will try there.
Also, yes CFA has been taken few times before in summer session as well as in school practices. He is school captain for soccer team.
And will surely write letter to admissions and reach out.
So glad I posted here.

Good luck!

What I meant about taking CFA in summer - did he attend USNA Summer Seminar, USAFA Summer Seminar or USMA SLE, take the CFA and get his scores recorded? The service academy where he took it will forward the score to USAFA if he didn’t take it there. If he didn’t attend those programs or didn’t take it if he did, never mind.

He did attend USMA summer seminar and he has taken it there for sure. But don’t know if they keep the records. And contacting them on this weekend is a challenge but will reach out.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, they keep those records. If his CfA shows complete on his USMA portal, he can send that score to USAFA.

Have him check his email from summertime (and junk mail). My son received his "pass" notification by email from USMA SLE.
