Ok, so here's the situation. I applied for a NROTC sideload scholarship this past summer as a Tier 2 major but I received advanced standing. I had jumped to this Tier 2 major to see if there was anything it could offer. I didn't like the major so I decided to change it two weeks ago to a Tier 3 major without informing my OI until recently, I got my a## chewed out by him and he's not sure what he's going to do with me. I wasn't aware that advanced standing recipients also have to fill out a Tier change request and it must be approved by NSTC. What can happen to me? If I fill out the form when it's released and it gets approved (I was told it most likely would) will I be ok?

Only your OI and NSTC will be able to answer that question. Right now you're at their mercy.

Yes, if it is approved you will be alright. If it is not approved you could lose your scholarship.

Don't you know by now that you should always keep your chain of command informed. Maybe now you know.

Yeah, I do now. Another MIDN switched from a Tier 1 to a Tier 3 but only informed the OI not nstc and still needs to submit the paperwork when it comes out in October.
