Need some advise

All good, @THParent. In a past life — a long, long time ago — I wrote for a living. I was fairly accomplished in the craft and considered the AP Stylebook and Strunk & White’s Elements of Style as my professional bibles. So despite my occasional typos on this forum (I blame clumsy thumbs), I don’t need advise on spelling.

I would like to thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I am glad to inform that I have received my Senator 2 Nomination for USNA today and the portal is also updated. With the LOA and DODMERB cleared, I am so relieved now. Phew !

Time to focus on fitness.

That’s great to hear @dgusafa. I feel like I got the Nomination. Happy for you! What state and district is this?

Outstanding. That is a big weight off your shoulders, to be sure. There is a possibility that by the end of this week, your status will change to "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment", and your options are to accept or decline.
Now the wait starts all over. It is only a mere 198 days to I-Day.:D

In case you were wondering, "Senator 2" means the "Junior Senator" from your State. So that would be the Senator who has been in office the shortest time.

Thank you so much @THParent. You are correct he took over as the Senator 2 months ago only.

If I read the original post correctly, ie. "USAFA asked me to wait ..." OP is CPR for Air Force, so the Air Force offer may still come through , so that gives him the option of waiting until he hears from USAFA, then possibly deciding between the two. No need to hurry the decision --the Offer of Appointment will have a deadline (I think its May 1, but CONFIRM).

Congratulations...an enviable position to be in dgusafa. If you haven't done a USNA CVW, I would recommend that you do so . (You can contact USNA Admissions directly or ask your BGO). Keep an open mind until you make the decision, then go for it.

While the Service Academies are probably more alike than different, there are significant differences between serving in Navy and Air Force, with pros and cons to both. If your goal is to be a pilot, one thing my BGO told me (long ago), that I have passed on to every candidate that is applying to both USAFA and USNA is to consider the what your service assignment options are if you can't fly -- Navy has so many great opportunities in Surface, Subs and even the Marine Corps. I like to point out you can do anything coming out of USNA that you can do coming out of USAFA or West Point, plus some.

Finally, there is no shame if you end up going Air Force, as it is certainly an honorable alternative to military service. (Kidding :))

Best of Luck to you.

+1 to @Old Navy BGO above. Yes, of course! You are NOT under any pressure to accept or decline your Offer of Appointment when your status for USNA changes in your Candidate Information System ("portal"). You have until May 1, 2019 to make that decision.

I would say that the odds are better for you than most, that you will ALSO be offered an appointment to USAFA. If USNA thinks enough of you to offer you an appointment, you are certainly made of the stuff that USAFA is looking for.

The good news is that you are in, and I-Day is the same day at both academies (June 27th).
Start training.
