Thank you for the support! I hope to hear soon. I recently had to deal with a remedial with my depth perception, Admissions at USAFA said that i was qualified but not pilot qualified because of my depth perception.

The catch is....I have never needed corrective lenses and have never had problems with depth perception.

Luckily, admissions got me retested for free, and I now have perfect depth perception! :thumb:

Now just waiting on that hopeful appointment offer!:biggrin:

Hi again!

My son had the same experience at the DODmerb optometrist. We took him to our own and he had perfect vision. How weird that the same thing happened to both of you? I'm glad it worked out well for both of you!

We're hoping you hear good news, too! And soon! I think it says a lot for our area the number of high caliber kids who are so driven in so many areas and want to serve their country.

Like you told the other goober on the USMA thread, keep up your good attitude, play great baseball, and convert your nerves into something positive!

Wow. That is very strange, having the same problem, I think I was just a little to nervous the first time.

Yes, definitely a lot of high caliber people coming out of Nevada. I know of another guy going to USMA at my school that is in my grade (Has appointment), and then another one that graduated last year that is a Plebe at USMA (football teammate as well, State in 08!)

And yeah just trying to help out other people in the same situation:thumb:

The coincidence is weird!

Nice that your teammate is there! :shake: It's cool to be a champion! My son knows 3 people currently at WP from his high school. One is a firstie getting ready to graduate, one is a Yuk and has been a friend of the family since before my son was born, the third is a plebe who was on his National Championship Rifle time with him his freshman year. He's doing his overnight visit with the Yuk next month. None of them will probably cross paths very often, but it is comforting to us knowing those kids are there, too.

Is the USMA appointee from your school friendly? I'd really love for my son to meet someone else before he goes. He's been invited to a local West Point Founders Day Dinner at the end of next month. Maybe they will get a chance to meet. It'd be nice to know they have someone to travel back and forth with for holidays, etc.

Both of my boys are still wrestling in the regional tournament - Day 2. My younger one lost to little DeLeon yesterday. Those DeLeon boys are tough!

He's pretty nice, and I believe he will probably go to one of those dinners, as his family is involved with the parent club up here I believe.

Yeah, I wish I knew some people who went to USAFA that went to McQ.

I don't know anyone who is at the AFA. If I hear of anyone through the meetings or the parent group I will let you and your family know.

Great day to practice! Seems like spring is in the air! I love baseball! My husband and I were just saying yesterday how weird it is going to be not having anyone to go coach or watch! Twelve years he's coached our boys. This year......nadda! We'll have to go watch the Aces I guess!

My oldest place 4th in his weight class. I don't know where my youngest placed (I think 5th or 6th). My husband just texted me that SS won the tournament and regionals as a team. Woo Hoo for them. Though, both of my boys are going to be happy to be done! Keeping the weight off has been hard on both of them. My oldest is just ready to sleep in on weekends and start training for beast barracks!

Keep us posted if you hear anything this week!

Last year we played the waiting game ... didn't hear until late March ... so hang in there and keep hoping ... just have a really good plan B ... !

BOBBY_J- Mine came in the mail first. Neither my candidate portal or DODMERB shows anything that I'm appointed.
