General Glenn M. Walters USMC '79 will become 20th President of The Citadel this summer after retiring from active duty, he was chosen from more than 100 candidates vying to replace LtGen John Rosa USAF ret. '73 who will step down in June after 12 years in the position. A career aviator Walters currently serves as Assistant Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps overseeing the daily operations of its 182,000 members and $142 Billion budget. Walters was Commander of the first Marine squadron to fly the V-22 tiltrotor aircraft; his recent assignments have included Deputy Assistant Commandant for Aviation, Deputy Director J-8 on the Joint Staff, Commanding General of the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing and Assistant Commandant for Programs and Resources.
