I spent last summer sailing with Orlando on EAGLE and this whole past year in the same company as him...The things that you never know about your shipmates....

Orlando is a great friend and mentor of mine, he was my MAA as a fourth class, my eagle division officer 3/c summer, and a tutor. Above all, he has been an amazing friend who had helped me out countless times. The fleet is gaining a great officer.

    Very cool story.

I had a professor who was out on a boat with some friends off of NYC. Boat started taking on water. He and his friends were rescued by the Coast Guard. The next week, if I remember correctly, he accepted his appointment to the Coast Guard Academy.

That guy is now a commander and CO on a 210'.

Both of these guys have a much more interesting path than I ever did.... but something tells me being rescued would have been much more motivating through swab summer!
