New Commandant?

Bruno, that's my point. There is NOT a lack of engineeringjobs, yet the state schools are not producing many licensed engineers and in fact are trying to recruit students to their program, as is the case with Cal Maritime.

Is it because engineering is harder and the higher achieving students go the KP perhaps for the free education? Is it because the state schools are not pushing the licensing exam? Again, if the state schools are only producing a small amount of licensed engineers each year, where will the future engineers come from? Many students at the state schools are not interested in the rigor of the license program and even less are interested in the rigor of the licensed engineering program.

One could posit that the Federal government is not getting their money's worth from the state institutions if the result is only a few licensed engineers each year. And most of these state students have no Naval reserve commitment at all. Many are turning down the Naval reserve financial aid because the amount offered isn't worth the commitment.

Do some research on the license pass rates. The state schools may not be producing licensed engineers, in fact they may not be producing licensed personnel based on the pass rate for the license exams. Take a look at the pass rates for all the state schools and compare that to Kings Point before making a judgement.
