New Dant

There will be a coordinated press release, I am sure. These are carefully chosen from top performers in their specialty, post-major command, likely to be chosen for flag or general officer rank late in this tour, if he or she doesn’t fall on their sword during their Dant tour. Their leadership styles will also be closely assessed, depending on what they think USNA needs in terms of any course corrections.

I was just going to look for the press release, and there it is now.
 
This will be DD’s third Dant since stepping on the Yard. The first two had rather contrasting styles — at least according to DD — so will be interesting to see where this one lands stylistically. (The fact that he’s a Marine may bear watching.) As I’ve told DD, whether you like a particular leadership style or not, each one is successful to a degree — otherwise that person wouldn’t be there. All provide useful examples for mids to learn from and adapt as appropriate.
