New Jersey Noms?

Nope, DS is still waiting. Got wait list for USMA and hasn't heard anything from AFA, Has a nomination to both. He has accepted his 4 year AROTC but is holding out for an appointment. Anyone else heard anything? Anyone else on the wait list also?

I got AFA from my Congressman, denied by Lautenberg and Menendez though.
 
what is the dinner for? Is it for nominations or for appointments? We are in a different district.

It is for nominations. Our congressman invites all of those he nominated to a recognition dinner. Looking forward to it, but nervous to hear about others who may have appointments. :eek:

Actually I hear he does a dinner for people accepted to academies or prep schools.

I applied to USNA in his district. You? And have you heard anything yet?
 
DS got nomination to AFA and West Point from Rush Holt. Wait list letter from West Point last week and nothing from AFA. Still waiting. Was qualified for USNA but didn't get the nomination... :( Good luck to you. A reception for those nominated would have been cool. He did get a AROTC 4 Year and still waiting to hear about NROTC. Hopefully soon....:yllol:
 
Got it from John Adler, but he got voted out of office, so I am assuming there won't be anything special with Jon Runyan considering he did not give the nomination :p

According to the 2015 appointment thread, I think there has only been one NJ appointment, but of course, this forum only represents a (small?) percentage of candidates.

Did have a great time. :thumb: Very informal, but lots of photo opportunities and a sincere congratulations from our congressman for having achieved the honor of being nominated. Might just be my opinion, but I think very highly of our MOC and his appreciation of his candidates. He has a special place in his heart for CGA, and considering DD has an appointment there already, it meant a lot.
 
KMC, did you find out about any appointments ( from talking to people or congressman mentioning it)?

Or was nothing mentioned or did nobody receive one yet from your district?

Just wondering :redface:! I'm so nervous!

Nothing was mentioned and we didn't really ask. DD did talk to one other girl who has a CGA appt (as does my daughter) and she has not heard from USNA yet either. I am guessing that MOC will be calling appointees soon. We're pretty nervous over here as well. :frown:
 
Ahh ok...how many appointments do you think will go out to your district? I always feel like its not always just one going out...but that's just me

and actually, its really funny because I also got one from Coast Guard even though I didn't even apply!! Wonder how that happened :p
That was the only service academy I applied to.
