Good Morning from drought-ridden Central California. So glad to be a new member of this forum. My husband and I have walked through the application process to USMA with our oldest son and are now in the "hurry-up-and-wait" status. He has received his Nomination and is what I think you call "2Q" ... academically and physically qualified. But he's waiting for a medical waiver. We are from the foothills on the East side of the San Joaquin Valley near Bakersfield, California and are proud to be part of the US cattle ranching industry. Looking forward to learning from all of you!

Welcome aboard!

I worked on a cattle ranch out here near Big Bend National Park, TX, myself, for a couple of years. There aren't many 16-17 year olds I know who can say they carried a gun to work every day. :thumb: Let me just say that I appreciate what you folks do for the ranching industry - it can be bitter work sometimes.

I wish you and your DS the best of luck in receiving a waiver and success at and after USMA.

Hi proudmom--we are in Tehachapi! Practically neighbors! Good luck to your DS! Hope he gets his appointment!

Welcome to the forums! Lot's of great information to pick your brain.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Today our son's waiver status changed to "remedial" and they are requesting additional information. Definitely a step in the right direction!
