Think that Admiral Phil Green will be named new superintendent, or, was just announced as new super. :)

Good to see and hear of this. Thanks for posting!

Let the Leadership Begin!

New Superintendent

I am surprised how few have responded to what I believe is fantastic news?

There were so many people clamoring for the Superintendent to be "one of our own", and not another outsider?

Hope this not a situation where the old adage " be careful for what you wish for , because it may just come true", comes into play

I have read RADM Green's biography/ resume , and I'm very impressed!

Does anyone know something/anything about our new SI, that we all should know or be aware of ? My hope is that this is the big step in the right direction that the Academy needs.

Any thoughts?

I think RADM Greene is an excellent choice, and should make an excellent superintendent. Everyone of us among the Alumni who know him that I've spoken or corresponded with are tickled pink he has agreed to take the challenge of the position on. I believe as other Academy stakeholders get to know him and see him in action, they too will very pleased with the results of this through search and selection process.

New Superintendent

I would like to congratulate RADM Green upon his selection as the new Superintendent of the academy. He appears to be a man of action with unprecedented leadership credentials. Being a USMMA grad I'm sure he will be a tireless advocate for the academy with a vision of what it was created for and how it should be run! Also, congratulations to the academy and MARAD for getting it right!

Exciting news

I cannot wait to meet him at PW. DD is very impressed and as the Academy says, "Acta Non Verba"

He will certainly be in my prayers as he 'tackles' the mountains at the Academy. God's Blessings on him, his family and USMMA.

Exciting news! I don't know anything about him but if the alums who post here are cheering, than I am too!!!
Let the direction for the future of KP go forward.:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

This is a huge plus for the Academy. One of its own, legit flag officer, Master Mariner, great guy. Let's hope the powers to be in DC give him what he needs to move the Academy forward and enhance the overall quality of everything at KP.

USMMA is indeed fortunate in the selection of Phil Greene as Supe. I've known Phil since the mid-70's when he used to sail against the USNA sailing team. Then, as Ensigns, we attended Guided Missile School together on out way out to our Division Officer tours. He moved in the same circle of friends and I've been very lucky to see him and renew friendship over the years. In fact, our sons now compete with each other out on the water just as he and I once did.

Best of luck!
