First, I just want to say thank you. This forum and so many others have already been so helpful. This whole SA is completely new to me and I'm trying to educate myself as much as possible so I can be of support to my daughter and her aspiration of attending USNA. My daughter and I both got emotional yesterday as we visited with Veterans who shared their stories of their service to our great nation. We have a family history of serving in the military, but never a family member who went the route of a SA. Say an extra prayer that I keep my sanity over the next 10 months, as I'm pretty sure God passed right by me as he was handing out patience. ;)🙏

Welcome! I understand completely. I am on this site to make sure I stay out of my DS's way as he is completing his applications. This way I can research and fret to my heart's extent and not actually bother him. Good luck to your DD as she starts the process.

Welcome to the process. My DS will be reporting for I-Day at USNA in three weeks:eek: as part of the class of 2025. I wish I had discovered this site 12 months ago as we made several mistakes the "knowledgeable" crew on here could have warned us to avoid. But bear in mind, there is no right way, no sure path to securing an appointment to an SA. Everyone's journey is and will be different. You will stumble, you will fret, you will be on a rollercoaster physically and mentally but hang in there.

Also as stated by others----advice given online is just that---advice. However there are very experienced members on here that provide excellent counsel. Good luck and Go Navy!

Welcome....have you bought your Patience Pants yet?? You will need them. And a backup pair!

(I came here for the interesting thread title!)

You have/had 2 Mids? I'm guessing you know where to find said pants? Amazon Prime?
I have two current Mids. And an Air National Guardsmen who went through AFROTC process. ROTC’s also required patient pants.

Beyond the appointment process, the Military in general requires them. You will need patience and FLEXIBILITY going forward, forevermore. So maybe yoga pants are best 😎
