After accepting a school’s offer and having a scholarship accepted, is there anything else to do besides continue to grow in physical fitness and preparation?

The unit should let you know about anything else you need to do. Dont expect to hear anything until late May or June, if there is anything. No doubt they'll at least tell you when to report, which may be before the rest of the student body.

There is a medical exam and vision exam. We followed this good result all the way to our son’s DODMERB stays page.

Thanks for the insight.. also do you or anyone else that happens to see this thread know how scholarship payments work? Like if a school covers the R & B as well, is it just covered and you never get a notice of the bill being paid?

You have to call the school and they will tell you how it is handled. Our college just shows a credit on the billing but other schools may do it differently

Its probably school dependent if you take tuition/fees. Once you contract you’ll have to do a cadet payment request in goarmyed and then it goes through several steps for final approval and payment. Its disbursement of government funds so its a bureaucrats bureaucracy. Talk with the ROO. But either one of two things will happen. The school credits your account and the army pays or you pay the school then when the army pays you get your money back. The latter is not ideal but the school can do as they please. Be ready to pay in case you aren’t medically qualified in sep and or cant pass the APFT or decide to do something stupid this summer like break a leg or get arrested.
