On Friday October 20th DS received an L.O.A. for USNA class of 2022 in his email. His screams of excitement and surprise were joyous for our family to hear. But now we wonder what his next steps are for securing a nomination and appointment. He has submitted applications for nomination to all nom sources he is eligible. We are unsure if he needs to inform them of his LOA and if informing them will make a difference for him as he seeks a nomination. Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.

His nominating sources should receive notification of his LOA from USNA. However, it will not hurt to let them know yourself. Congratulations!!

I’m sure someone with more knowledge will chime in as well. This is what I have learned form perusing these forums- I have never been in this situation.

Have your DS send a copy of the email about the LOA to his nominating sources. USNA typically informs the congressional offices of the LOA, but better to be safe than sorry. MY DD also took a copy with her to the interview just to be sure. Congrats!
