Hello, I transferred schools between Sophomore and Junior years. This caused me to have complications to getting into NHS. I won't be able to get inducted until this next spring of my Senior year..... Is there a way to tell the USAFA that? I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, but that's the way it was. Thanks, any replies welcome.

You could explain this in the 'Additional Information' essay.

Also remember, NHS is not a make or break item on your application (many schools do not participate in the NHS program) and is just one facet of the whole student assessment. IMHO, I would focus more on documenting the achievements you earned than rationalizing those that you did not.

NHS varies a lot from school to school. In some schools it is a valid honor, and in others it is not much more than a social club for certain members. None of my three kids were in NHS but all achieved their desired schools including the Academies. It is not make or break as was mentioned above.

^^ I agree. In some schools getting selected to 'National Honor Society' is more of a recognition rather than an ECA where you actually do something.
