Is Nike SFB Special Field Tactical Black Boots Navy Compliant at USNA?

Is Nike SFB Special Field Tactical Black Boots Navy Compliant at USNA?

If DS is going to be a Plebe, this is not an issue. USNA will issue him everything he needs for Plebe Summer/Plebe Year. If he wants or needs something else, USNA will make specifications clear (and generally make it available in the MidStore). I saw another thread where a candidate/parent was asking about some other piece of gear -- even if they let you bring something special (which I don't believe they do at least during Plebe Summer), I assure you that you don't want to be "that guy" (or gal) showing up with some fancy kit-- individuality is not encouraged.

This is to break it in and get used to wearing boots before reporting which is what the academy is encouraged. So if I’m buying my DS a Boots I want to buy him hat is Compliant with the Navy. He’s been wearing NIKE SFB for the Army and Air Force wear the same boots. So want to know if Navy allow the same Boots in Black. Would you know the spec for ankles SFB to be Compliant. It is the lightest and most comfortable boots in market.

Wearing those boots will not get him used to the issued ones. As you know, SFBs are like sneakers, the issued ones are much heavier and clunkier.

Just looking at some other threads on boots...looks like USMA and USAFA actually want you to get boots and break them in before reporting. USNA does not, and looking back at the Permit to Report instructions that have been posted here in the past, will not allow them. Of course, one could play Sea Lawyer and argue that they are athletic footwear....but again, you don't want to be that guy.

On I-day boots (and everything else necessary) will be issued and put into the 80 pound sea bag. The only item the plebes will be able to keep will be the broken-in running shoes they are wearing when they show up at Alumni Hall. Everything else they are wearing, including their underwear, will be will be taken away, bagged up and stored. You will likely be presented said bag in August if you attend PPW, so you can take it home with you. Everyone will break-in their boots together. It's also a good idea to have P2B break in a second pair of running shoes to be mailed halfway through plebe summer.

Bought my son those boots before he took the MARSOT Screener. They're much lighter than the issued. They're what he wears now. Sent you a PM.
