Coming soon... Air Force Colorado Springs. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

In response to the Military Academy’s and Naval Academy’s rebranding efforts, the Air Force Academy announced that it also is updating its brand.

“From now on, we’re going to go by AIR FORCE COLORADO SPRINGS,” said Athletic Director Jim Knowlton. “Now, we know that’s a mouthful, so our new style guide states that it can be shortened to A FORCE, C SPRINGS.”

In anticipation of their upcoming football game, Knowlton closed the press conference by proclaiming, “Go AIR FORCE COLORADO SPRINGS! Beat NAVY ANNAPOLIS!”

I thought it was funny that the Army paid Nike all that money just to add two of its names together. "Army West Point" - I'm sure they put a lot of time and effort into figuring that one out.

Envious of all the attention Army West Point has received for its rebrand, and not wanting to be seen as a tired, antiquated, passé brand, the Naval Academy announced today that its teams would henceforth wear uniforms that say NAVY ANNAPOLIS.

“I don’t know where you got the idea that we were copying the Military Academy,” Athletic Director Chet Gladchuck said at a press conference revealing the change. “Any resemblance to their recent rebranding is purely coincidental. In fact, we started our effort before they did. We just took longer reaching consensus.”

He said the academy initially considered ANNAPOLIS NAVY, but a trademark search revealed that this name is registered by the Annapolis Yacht and Country Club.

Gladchuck shared examples of redesigned uniforms, on which the UnderArmour logo was significantly more prominent than any Navy symbols, such as the N* or the goat mascot.

“For the sake of a consistent brand, we wanted our uniforms to look more like the apparel we sell in the Visitors Center and Mid Store,” Gladchuck said. “That’s why the UnderArmour logo is so big.”

The football team will debut its new uniforms at this year’s Army-Navy game, which CBS Sports has officially renamed ARMY WEST POINT VS. NAVY ANNAPOLIS: THE BATTLE OF THE BRANDS.

Damn, that was funny! You should write for Duffleblog....

I’m sure if there is money to be made, Gladchuk will go for it...
Most of us alumni wish he would just ask Notre Dame politely if we could have better seats at our “home” games in places like Jacksonville and San Diego...

Correction. In an effort to 1-up Army and Navy, they have decided to go with "Air Force Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America".

Just think of the trickle-down effect. USAFA doolies will need to update things like their altitude check...

Sir, my altitude is seven thousand, two hundred and fifty eight above sea level. Far, far above that of Army West Point or Navy Annapolis.

Hmmm....not sure that's really enough. I think Maryland really needs to be added to Annapolis to erase any possible confusion with other cities of the same name such as Annapolis California, Illinois, Ohio, Washington, et.al.
How would people know otherwise?

Great point, @Sydney C. Remenber the commercial a couple years ago, in which Charles Barkley and the rest of the crew covering the Final Four were in a car? Barkley, the driver, says “We’re here, in the Annapolis.” Sure enough, there’s the sign welcoming them to Annapolis. One of the passengers then says, “Uh, Charles, the Final Four is in Indianapolis.”
