DS just got a nom from Booker today. Weird, though, his pick was USNA, but he got nom for USAFA. Maybe just a gimmee for respect. An acceptance to USAFA would be fine, too!
 
Just showed up on portal. We had pretty much given up on any response from Booker's office. Quite a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, meanwhile I can't even hear about a nomination for the one school I desperately want to go to... :mad:

And what do you mean by "a gimme for respect?"
 
OK, my bad. We "assumed" the NJ senator nomination that hit DS portal was from Menendez. It was actually from Booker - DS got that info from ALO today. Same result, but I wanted to correct my reporting here. Since DS had received a nomination from Chiesa to another academy, DS was under the impression his file was NOT forwarded to Booker for consideration. So, same place, different slate.
 
What I meant by "gimmee" is that the Senators and Congressman sometimes have nomination slots left over (especially for USAFA). The majority of candidates in the Northeast are looking for USNA or USMA, USCGA, etc. USAFA often doesn't get filled with qualified candidates. My DS asked for USNA as priority, but received 2 noms to USAFA in the interview processes of senators and congressman. So, a "gimmee" is a way of giving good candidates an option, should they not get their first request.

Absolutely nothing! I called the Newton office yesterday at 4:15 and got a voicemail for some reason... I'm at a loss at this point after hearing pretty much everyone else in the country has received their nominations.

Btw, did you or your son get the email back on 1/8/14 saying "you will get a letter from the congressman by the 2nd week in February." Why would it take them until then to notify candidates?
 
Not sure if he got email. The thing that bugs me is that USMA from Garrett is up but doesn't seem USNA is. I'm going to ask him to call Garrett's office on Mon if nothing by then. The waiting is the worst. Did u go to a CVW OR SUMMER SEMINAR?

Squires interviewed my other son the year before. He was also training Sangjoon. Pretty sure my son was Sangjoons first interview which is why they both came. He may know though I don't think he'd say. I think admissions or the MOC office would say.
 
Well I haven't called Navy yet, do you really think it would take 5 days to upload something to our portals?
 
There could be horse trading going on. I have no idea. But unless someone from our district heard, I'm going to continue to believe they aren't up yet.
