I am working on completing my online NROTC application and just have my essays left and will complete the AFA next week, but I have not had any contact with an recruiter to do the officer interview or completing other forms. Who should I contact or email?

As I recall, it wasn't until the essays were done that my son received any contact from the Navy. His part of the application had to be done before they started their part.

I would reach out to your district headquarters. You're local Navy/Marine recruiter should know their district and how to contact them. They might be able to help facilitate it. Be sure not to let them recruit you... and I'm not kidding. Love our recruiters but sometimes they get carried away.

Will do, thank you

My DS’s scholarship coordinator is located in one of the regional recruitment offices and he went there for his interview. Call the one closest to you and hopefully someone can help quickly. Best of luck for a quick resolution!

The eastern PA contact was always in touch. Sending notices and then complete instructions where and how to schedule the interview. It was up to DS to reach out for the interview. It was the local recruiter who reviewed his ap before submission that we had a hard time getting to return calls and Philly had to intervene and get the recruiter to do their job.

My DS has been having a problem where his coordinator has changed back and forth twice in the past 2 months, each telling him that they haven't received documents that were repeatedly emailed to them. Still waiting for a response from current coordinator though it's the holiday week. I know it's a busy time all around. It's just getting close to deadline and I'm concerned. He actually has an interview tomorrow at one of the colleges on his application and the Captain there said he could sign the papers in front of him for the application. Not sure if that'll count as his officer interview or if he still has to interview with his recruiter?

DS had his change 3 Times, and each time things were “lost”. He had to have teachers send stuff several times. It was very frustrating, having to bother teachers/counselors even more than necessary (between ROTC and academies...so thankful teachers/admin were so patient and helpful!). And with each change, he would be in email contact and then BAM, nothing. For a few weeks. Not sure why the changes in recruiters (3). He completed his stuff relatively quickly. It ended up ultimately as a flurry of activity right at interview time, getting stuff sent in again. He ended up completing the whole thing in in time for the first board and received a scholarship first round.

I have read of changes here on the forums. Not sure if it’s normal, but for sure it happens. Make sure you keep copies of everything you send. And get your stuff done sooner rather than later. And DS never interviewed with recruiter, only officer. I wouldn’t expect to have to interview again. He also interviewed at his first choice school. GOOD LUCK!!
