Hello,

My DS has yet to be asked to interview. Is that a bad sign? Can one still recieve an appointment without an interview?

Thanks,

Didn’t receive a interview request either, but have been talking to the coach and emailed a few times, my DS is a recruit Athletic. Not sure either??

Not definitive, but based on repeated statements that all admitted applicants will be interviewed it certainly isn't a good sign. As always, have a plan, B, C and D in place. You will have an answer in the next couple days.

I've heard everyone would need an interview. Though there was just two people on here recently that said they got an appointment without an interview.
So don't really know. Check the below post on page 8

USCGA Class of 2023 Do-It-Yourself Appointment Thread

DD did not have an interview, but received conditional appointment last week. Perhaps they will give her one sometime in next few weeks?

Hi! I was curious about this as well because when an interview wasn't requested of me I got worried I wouldn't get an appointment. However, I did get accepted. I've attached a poll from the accepted student group chat asking if they were interviewed.

As you can see it is unlikely to get an appointment without an interview, but not impossible.

Thank you for that info. Now to wonder how many appointments are left?

Hard to know how many slots are left. Current CGAS kids who are at prep schools have not received their notifications either. They are supposed to hear soon. I know it’s hard to wait but there are still a lot of balls up in the air behind closed doors in the admissions office.

Do you know if the same is true for reapplicants from college? I haven't heard anything, except for the interview.

I'm a reapplicant from college that found out on the 22nd.

My DD is also a reapplicant and received notice on the 22nd as well.

They probably decided on the reapplicants on that date, I can't imagine I'll hear anything good on the 1st or tomorrow, so this is probably the end of the road. I'll just stay at my current college and finish out my time here. Thanks.

If you haven't heard no, you're still in it. It's good to have a plan B, but don't try to read tea leaves. The number of appointments left that you care about is one, and that's the one that could be your's.
My DS received a phone call this morning with an appointment to the CGAS program. We are very proud and excited for him to have such an incredible opportunity. He did not receive a request for an interview. I would really like to thank Physicsguru for your positive messages. It was at times very difficult to just WAIT patiently. Your messages of encouragement were just what DS needed and greatly appreciated.
