No nominations but no TWE?

Hello all,

I’ve realized that we are getting close to the time where a mass number of appointments will be coming out soon. Because of this, I am confused on the status of my application.

I read somewhere on this forum recently that if I’ve not received a TWE by now, it means I am 3Q. However, I did not receive a congressional nomination to USNA, only to USAFA. After finding out I didn’t receive a nomination to USNA in December, I scrambled to apply for the VP nomination to which I know was a long shot, but one I was determined to take.

On my portal, for months now, says “Complete Pending Review” and requires no further actions on my part. I’m frustrated and confused because I expected my application to close a long time ago but it’s nice that there’s still a glimmer of hope. Does anyone have an idea of what my situation means or have gone through similar experiences? Anything helps!

Why do you think that the Application would close by now ? USNA's website is pretty clear --- you should expect to hear by April 15. Anything before that is a self induced expectation.

The only thing CPR means is exactly what it says... Complete, Pending Review. You, and others, should not read anything more into it. There are many candidate who are still waiting to hear -some are 3Q, some haven't even been reviewed by Admissions yet.

. Appointments have been trickling out since October (according to the self report thread), and will continue to trickle out until April 15. Don't expect a mass rush of Appointments.

I’m in the same boat as you.... multiple nominations to other SA’s but not one for the USNA. Unfortunately, my State doesn’t double nominate. My Senator called me to let me know he was nominating me but then he realized that I was already nominated by the other Senator, my nomination was then passed to another deserving person. I was hoping it would have been applied to USNA..... I know my app was very competitive, maybe I’m being considered for prep school? Maybe my twe is ready to be sent. Never know.

Does anyone have thoughts on recently receiving a CVW for late April while still CPR and no nomination to USNA but one to another SA from a very competitive area?

Not trying to read anything, just not understanding something and hoped someone would have a thought. Attended Summer Seminar last year and had a fun and educational time.

Must admit I'm a bit confused. I assume that you have some interest in the "other SAs" or you wouldn't have asked to be nominated to those SAs -- or accepted the noms. Unless your views about SAs have drastically changed since the fall when you submitted your noms (so that now you only want to attend USNA), I'm not entirely sure why you are focusing on USNA and not on the SAs to which you have noms and presumably where you have interest in attending.

It ain’t over until it’s over, whether or not you have a nomination.

Case in point: DD got nomination, LOA and offer of appointment to USNA and USMA. Got none of that for USAFA, but no TWE either. Then, three days before decision day — May 1 — she received an LOA pending nomination. The next day, she got a nomination and hence an offer of appointment.

Moral of the story: If an SA wants you badly enough, they’ll get you. Just be patient.

@MidCakePa said it best, if a SA wants you badly enough, they'll get you. I had no nomination to USNA last year but applied for the VP nomination and didn't receive my rejection letter till April 13 (It was just an email, I never got an official TWE in the mail). You never know what will happen, you just have to wait and see.
