No Official Appointment But Invited to Air Force Academy Class Appointee Event

We just received an email saying "Congratulations. You have been selected to attend the United States Air Force Academy Class Appointee Event!..." But we have no official email or status update of an official appointment or acceptance in the Air Force Academy. Anyone else had this experience? Thought it's a bit odd we received the invitation before the official decision of the application. Is it a glitch? Is it a sign that I am still being considered? Waitlisted? Or, will be accepted? Is it a precursor of what's to come?

I got that email also and I got a falcon foundation scholarship. Not sure what to think of it, must’ve sent it out to everyone. Hopefully it means you have got an appointment on the way!

Best course of action would be to reach out via polite email to your admission counselor.

Could be a sign that you are in the MOC notification period and appointment will show up in your portal on Sunday. My ds received an email from USMA about appointees needing the COVID vax during his MOC notification period. He was notified by his MOC a few hours later and portal updated the next day.
