The process is actually nearly the same as when I went through it (before computers). It was actually easier. Because when a letter said you would hear by April 15th, you just waited. You didn’t know how many appointments went out and stressed over everything. I would also say parent involvement was much less than it is now. They may have read our essays or answered what our SSN was but that was about it, or a ride to our MOC interview... but honestly it is extremely minimal.
 
Everything done by hand. Typed essays. All sealed up and mailed in.

Then all the actual piles of papers in admissions. Keeping track of all the “stuff”.

And a candidate waits to hear after mailing in the envelope. That’s how I envision it. Hard to fathom with all the applications! Wonder if there has always been around 6k apply? Fascinating to think about. It all works!!
