I know lots of people are in this boat... for those that do not have SAT/ACT scores yet, do you all have to wait to submit the nomination application(s), or are your Senators/Congressman/Congresswoman not requiring it? Right now I don't have scores until I take the SAT in August and mine are due the end of September and early October.
Just interested to hear people's journey on this, as I know a lot of us are in this same predicament. Hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

No need to complete your nom apps until the deadline. Though MOCs are different, I know of no situations where it’s first-come-first-serves. So that gives you time to get an SAT/ACT score if possible, before fully submitting.

I'm in the same boat with my first ACT test on September 12th. My first nomination is due October 2nd. This is year is a very different year. Hopefully, senators will keep this in mind.

I think it takes about 2-4 weeks for scores to come out (don't quote me I may be wrong), I hope they come out in time the nomination applications are due!

one of PA senators extended score reporting past Oct 5 ap deadline so far

How did you find out? Did they post it on their website? I'm not in PA just curious so I know what to look out for if that happens.

Senator Toomey sent an email to the applicants and I guess parental contacts.

Both of my senators are actually not allowing standardized test scores to be submitted and my Congressman’s office has gone test-optional. Kinda seems like a no-brainer since every school district in my state is closed for the fall.

My SAT was just canceled! I think I'm going to call my senators and congressman on Monday because I have no scores, and my SAT scores in September will come out too late for my applications. I know lots of people are in this situation too...does anyone have insight/plans on what they're doing/advice, etc?

Definitely a challenge. Have you looked at other states? There are are states that are conducting the tests. Best of luck to you.

Even though your apps are due, many MOCs don’t hold interviews until later. If that is the case, ask if you can submit updates. Put on your app that you are scheduled for X date. Many candidates are in this limbo right now. Get creative, start looking at alternate test sites. Even across state lines if you have the means and capability to do this.

I've looked at states surrounding me, everything's full. I even looked at the state where my brother goes to college, and there's a few open there. Where he is is a COVID hot spot so I'm just nervous those may be canceled too and it's a 12-hour drive, but I'm going to do everything I can and keep constant communication to figure everything out.

I contacted Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin. Both their offices said that you can continue to update test scores past the deadline as long as everything else on the application is completed. Good luck.

That's good to know, thank you! I'm going to call my senators and congressman on Monday morning to find out how to best proceed.
