I received a conditional appointment to USCGA during the early action portion. I have not heard anything about a waiver; it hasn't even been requested yet. Is this something I should worry about?

Thank you

What does your admissions officer say? I’m going to get her name wrong here from memory but Shannon Castinnero or something like that is the one to ask about USCGA waivers. Look for her name and contact info in the application instructions. Good luck! It does seem odd to me that with an appointment they haven’t requested a waiver.

That’s who you can ask, if you can’t reach your AO.

What does it mean if you haven't heard anything but they have requested a waiver?
In my son’s experience, there can be a very long wait for additional info to be requested and then another long wait following that.

He’s still waiting, although he’s finally now in that second phase following the request of additional info.

I think the best thing to do is stay in touch with admissions about it, although not so often as to be a bother.

It’s really nerve wracking, especially as time goes on, fearing that you’ve been forgotten in a pile somewhere and difficult to confirm otherwise.

I appreciate the help, I reached out to her and have not received a response
She is usually very good about replying, but if you don't hear by Tuesday, I would follow up. I was in contact with her on Monday, and she mentioned she would be out of the office.

You might also email Mr. McMunn, I received notice of a waiver initiation from him.

Any word on your waiver request? My son's as initiated only two weeks ago, I am more nervous about the timeframe than getting a waiver...Hope you got some news by now!

They requested one for me about three weeks ago, and they told me it would take about four to six weeks from when they requested it. Good luck!

Good luck, we were told three weeks...so hope you hear something earlier! My son was DQ'd for a concussion when he was 12.
