Honestly speaking, at first I was like ok I guess its all over for me now but then again short interviews aren't necessarily bad, because considering how elaborative I was I think they got what they needed and I really hoped it was longer because I really wanted to give them a better understanding of me but I guess there was a large volume of candidates.
I see, thanks for your insight!

One that tripped me up a bit was:
Can you give us an example of a time you brought people from different cultures together?

If anything im just grateful for the opportunity, because I did get rejected from 1 senator.

At the end of the day, the interview is about seeing if you are someone that others can lead, follow, work with, or work for. You wouldn't be in the interview if you weren't academically qualified. They are making sure the person matches the resume and getting a general feel. They are not there to trip you up. That goes for all interviews, really, regardless of if it's a job, scholarship, or nomination interview. There are no perfect answers. Be professional, be yourself, be confident, yet humble. If you don't get a nomination, remember the quality of the competition you're up against. These really are the best of the best of the best kids vying for very few slots.

As you are leaving your parents on the first day of basic, what is something that you will be afraid of in the coming 4 years at the Academy?

Don't forget, after the honor code question, they will usually give you a hypothetical scenario....so not only will you not cheat with others on a test, but you will also warn them that their actions violate the honor code, and if they persist, you report to superiors...good luck with interview everyone!

Some of the ones I was asked last year:

What's a problem with the government and how would you fix it?
Favorite book?
Who is the chief of staff of the Air Force?

But honestly, the ones that are the hardest are the easy ones:

Who are you?
What leadership opportunities have you had?
Why do you think you'll succeed at the academy?
Why do you want to go?
