I got a nomination from Rep. Sensenbrenner (WI-05) that showed up on my portal on December 15th, and I got a call from his office on the 22nd confirming it. The person I talked to said that I should be getting a letter in the mail regarding the nomination, and that although letters were mailed about 10 days prior (December 12th, ish), the delays in the mail had prevented many nominees from receiving them at that point. Almost a month after it was mailed, I still haven't gotten it, and at this point I presume it was lost in the mail. The tricky part is, Rep. Sensenbrenner retired this year, and I've had trouble contacting Rep. Fitzgerald's office, his successor. Even if I was able to talk to them, I don't know if they could do anything about it, as I didn't apply through Fitzgerald's office. Is this letter important or not, since I already have the nom? I'm sure it was just a formality, but I can't help but wonder if there may have been important information in it. Are many MOC's nom letters important in that manner or are they mostly just to notify you of the nom?
