Our MOC applications were supposed to be submitted by yesterday (Friday, October 1st). Earlier in the week, we noticed on the MOC's website that the date changed to October 29th. Even as recent as mid September the deadline was clearly stated to be October 1st. The video presentation on the Virginia Senator's website, which also had our MOC representative give a brief presentation, clearly stated that the MOC applications were due no later than October 1st. Not even our guidance counselors were aware of the change. Is this common? Could it mean they are seeking more applicants? We are in the Second District in Virginia (Virginia Beach/Norfolk and other parts of the Tidewater Region), in Congresswoman Elaine Luria's district.

I wouldn’t read into it. Changes happen - it could be for a number of reasons.

It could mean anything. To speculate would be useless, TBH. It could be what you said. It could be that the basement of the place they were going to host interviews flooded and there is now a mold problem that requires them to move to a new location, unavailable until the new date….or anything in between. They can run their program however they want, as long as they submit their slip slates by the due date.

Building on responses above, how would knowing the reason change your application or intention to apply? It shouldn’t. So eyes in the boat and carry on.
