Is it possible to receive a nomination before having your interview? I have already received my LOA and sent in my applications for my noms in mid-August to early September. Just wondering if this has ever happened.

If not, when do people typically start hearing back from their MOCs? I am from Maryland.

Thanks.

Some MOCs don't conduct interviews. So, obviously, you could get good news without hearing about an interview.

I find it hard to believe that an MOC who conducts interviews would give you a nom before your interview. However, stranger things probably have happened.

When you hear back depends entirely on your MOCs. Some finish the process early (either because they start early or have few applicants) and some very late. In my area, most people hear in December. Even within a state, the two senators and rep can handle things entirely differently -- and often do.
