Just wondering how long it usually takes for nomination to appear on USNA's website. My DS received letter dated 12/4 saying he received nomination. Is it possible that USNA doesn't know yet? As of today, it still does not appear on CIS.

Depends on the MOC. They have until Jan. 31 (or, for those departing, until Inauguration Day) to submit their slates to USNA. It won't show up in CIS until USNA is notified.

Every MOC office might be different, but DS received congressional nom on 11/16/2012 and USNA website reflected change on 12/4/2012. It was a 2 1/2 week wait for him.

Thank you for the quick replies. I'm still working on the concept of "patience" and giving in to the fact that we may not hear anything until March.

Fortunately, my DS has plenty going on to keep him busy and distracted. On the other hand, I think I need a new hobby, other than reading these forums.

About a week...

Our son received the letter from our Rep's office on Friday 11/30, and the nom first appeared in the CIS on the following Thursday 12/6. The nom came sooner than expected, but I think they're hurrying to finish some things up because of re-districting - we will be in a different Congressional District after Jan 1st. It's such a guessing game...

It took roughly two weeks for my Senators nom to show up, probably because the senators coordinate in my state. For my congressman, it took a week.

Hope this helps!

DS had interview on November 16th. Letter he received Nomination was dated Dec.4th. Still is not indicated on CIS. Hopefully soon. Does anyone know if and for how long the admissions office will be closed for the holidays? Just wondering if the information doesn't appear this week, if it will be put off until after the new year. If that is the case, I suppose the mailbox stalking can also be put on hold. :yllol:

My suggestion, I wouldn't worry about it until January 31st. Just because the MOC sent the notification letter doesn't mean they submitted the slate to USNA; the MOC might wait until the last minute.

For what it's worth, my MOC nom letter is dated 12/5 and just showed up in the CIS today, while my senate nom letter is dated 11/30 and still hasn't showed up in the CIS.

Just curious, will the admissions board review a package that is complete except for a nom? The reason I ask is that my application had been completed for a while prior to the nom showing up, so I'm hoping that didn;t delay my review.

It might be different as I am among the folks who are being recruited for sports, but I received my LOA before I had a nomination, so admissions certainly had taken a look at my package before my nomination showed up. (I finished my application the final week of September.)

In general it appears that some people are notified they are Triple-Q'd prior to their nomination being in, others are not. It seems to be a fairly mixed bag on hearing from admissions prior to nominations.
