Hello, I’m the next few weeks I will be going to my nomination interviews. What should I expect and how can I prepare? Thank you

Every MOC panel is different, but check below under the "Nomination" section for some good ideas of what to expect. Specifically for USMMA, be sure that you understand the mission of the academy, the service commitment upon graduation, and the available majors. All these topics are covered in detail at USMMA.edu. Good luck!

For DS when he went through process, I would just randomly throw questions at him. We’d be in the grocery store and I’d go, “Why didn’t you apply to the Naval Academy if you love the water?” to make him think on his feet. Or in the car I’d be like, “What is your best quality” etc. My daughter who will be applying for 2025 has already asked me to just sling questions at her, and I do.

Read up on current events that deal with the USMMA and different service branches. Our son discussed the new USMC cyber warfare command and they were shocked that a high school kid was paying attention to things like that.

Our son was interviewed at a US Navy base by Navy officers for his Congressional interview.
