Nomination not showing up on portal

I received mail from my MOC (CA-38) on December 8th informing me that I received her nomination. However, my portal still has not updated, and it still says "None Received."
Should I be concerned? It has been almost a month. Have other people also had to wait this long for their nomination to show up on their portal?

While you might have received a letter from your MOC notifying you of a nomination, the MOC office might not have submitted the slate to USNA (they have until January 31). If your portal doesn’t show a nomination by the end of the month, then I’d contact your MOC.

Yep, this is quite common. Offices sometimes wait until close to the deadline to submit, so just give it a few more weeks.

My DS's Congressman called him personally on Dec 20, and by the following day his portal reflected the change in status. So perhaps some of the MOC offices wanted to get this done as early Christmas gifts to anxiously-awaiting candidates! By the way, since my DS had previously received an LOA, his offer of appointment was soon to follow. He received the Online offer yesterday and could click "accept", but it's our understanding that the BFE should be on its way to our mailbox with a lot more information. We have actually been surprised at the efficiency of the entire process and never expected him to have his nomination and offer of appointment before the Spring semester starts!

The really weird thing is that the nomination actually appeared on my portal for about a day (before I actually was notified by my MOC). Then, right before I was notified by my MOC, the nomination disappeared from my portal. It hasn't appeared since.

That seems odd, that it was on your portal for a day and then gone [emoji848]. Not sure what to think about that, but I am new to this whole process...However the part about it being there before notification from MOC’s isn’t uncommon, at least with us. DS received 3, and 2 were discovered before being notified...one was there 2 weeks before notice. Finding reading on these forums that portal notice/MOC notice really varies greatly.
