Once a candidate receives a nomination (that precedes an appointment) does West Point typically send a letter of congratulations or any other correspondence?

For my son, it was listed on the "Nominations" section on candidate's status page and he received a letter from the senator. Beyond that, no, our experience was that the academy didn't further acknowledge it at this stage.

Nope. I think it would be safe to assume that nothing from WP came to me after getting nominated that nothing is sent out to other nominees

Thanks. I guess we'll wait through the next stage of this journey.

My son received 3 nominations to West Point and didn't get any correspondance until the Appointment came. Of course, now, the correspondance is like an avalanche of paper work! :yllol:

Good luck in your wait.

I've received a LOA and my nomination showed up on the portal today. How long does it usually take for an offer of appointment to show up on the portal or to receive an offer in the mail? Which one usually occurs first?

Took me about a week but admissions is very busy now so YMMV

Congratulations WestPointer14!!! Who was your nom from? We are patiently waiting (really impatiently!) in West TN district 7. We checked portal, but its down for maintenance right now. I say impatiently, my son is fine but we are going nuts!!!

I received my appointment in the mail on 16 Jan, and the link to accept my appointment appeared on my portal 20 Jan.

I think my was from congressman roe from district 01. I got a letter from his office about a week before christmas saying that i had received one but it didn't get up loaded to the portal until yesterday.

My son received a call today from TN District 7 office with his nomination. We are all so excited for him. LOA came in November.
