So i received a normal competitive nom. It was first reflected on my CIS page today. I know that the MOC has one vacancy. So my question is, how long will the admissions team wait to make a decision on who to appoint from his slate of 10 nominees? I know that exact times are super secret and not many people know, but if you had a general amount of time that would be helpful. Also, if another nominee had an LOA and i am just 3'd, does that mean that the kid with the LOA automatically fills that MOC's vacancy and im outta luck?

not necessarily. they do it by merit. it is entirely possible for a later applicant to have a higher score than one with an early LOA. Of course the LOA winner still gets in.

It depends! For Admissions to evaluate the slate, each of the ten nominees needs to have their app complete. So, you cannot control if others have their apps done, waivers granted/denied, etc. All you can control is your own app.

If I call admissions would they tell me if someone has been appointed from the congressman's slate? or would that just be ridiculous and unorthodox?

Nahhhh

#1 I doubt that they would tell you, or even me as a BGO.

#2 They won't know, really, until acceptances are in, and they are not required to be returned until 1 May.

If you're fully qualified and have a nom, you stand a 70% chance of getting an offer of appointment.

Don't fret over things you cannot control.

Work hard and enjoy your last few months of HS.
