NOMINATION TIMEFRAME?

I have been on every site for nominations, that I am available for, and also USMA's own website. However, on my MOC's sites, they do not specify what year their applications must be sent in, only the month. I am a junior and have already taken the SAT and ACT with Writing, but I am taking them again to superstore them. On my MOC's applications they state that once submitted online you cannot edit your application. So my question is should I wait until the begining of my senior year, when I have my SAT and ACT with Writing scores superscored, or now to complete their applications? My MOC's do not specify the year, so I do not know, when they say at least a high school junior, if I should complete the application by the deadline of this year, or my senior year? Thanks for the help.

Your MOC are dealing with high school seniors now (class of 2020). If you are a junior you need to wait until next year. You can call their offices to confirm.

Correct. Or better would be the summer before. As you have seen their deadlines are fairly early in the academic year.

In this region applications are for graduation year- 2020 right now. I'm pretty sure they won't look at 2021 at this point in time.

Some begin to accept nomination packets as early as April but they will take no action on them until the deadline which is usually late Sept or early Oct. You can go on their websites right now and find the dates. I suggest starting pretty early. Between the academy applications and the Nominations, it is a mountain of paperwork. Start early and eat the elephant one bite at a time.

SuperSTORE ACT/SAT scores is a good idea! Start storing up some good scores early! ;)

OP - One way to get an early start on the nomination process is to go to the MOC's website and download this year's application to figure out what is needed. Writing the essays take time, so it will give you a chance to start making some notes on the possible questions for the following year. Essay questions might change, but at least it will be good practice. Plus it will give you a chance to start thinking about which teachers you will be asking for references.

Another few tips too: Take the ACT/SAT's as many times as possible. Super-scores increase even when you have an 'off' day! Also, start making connections with your math, science and English teachers. Then six weeks before school is out you can ask them for the academic recommendations to the SA. (be sure to get their summer email addresses) You can begin a rough draft of your resume now and keep revising it until it's time to give to your teachers for the recommendations. Then it will be ready for the nomination packet.

Taking the SAT/ACT MANY times is no guarantee of a better score, some on here seem to imply your scores will always go up and that is not correct. Your score could go UP or DOWN. Some do better on one test than the other so it is a good idea to take both SAT & ACT.
