My DS received his nomination from his MOC and a principal nomination from his senator on Dec. 24th, however, the portal hasn't been updated to show this yet. Does anyone know how long this can take and what is the delay? Neither have been voted out of office and I'm wondering if he should contact either of them?

They have until January 31st, so probably around then.

There is no set time for portal update. For reference, my son interviewed in Nov., found out in Dec., portal updated in Jan., and found out about appointment last couple of days in Feb..

My DD's nom was in the portal prior to her being notified by our MOC. Sounds like it varies.

My DD had her nom in her portal before she was notified as well. We are in MA.

Yes, it depends on when MOC sends the slate to Admissions. Some MOC wait to confirm until everyone on the Nom slate confirms acceptance.

My nom showed up in my portal a week after my MOC personally called. After interviewing with the MA senators I heard they just upload on January 31st. I would expect to wait until the 31st, and be pleasantly surprised if it's uploaded sooner!

MOCs can also be late in calling. They are given about a week before the acceptance is uploaded, but they obviously could call after that occurs. And, of course, some never call.

Information flow slows down this late into the cycle. The excellent folks at Admissions are working hard to process everything.
Another factor this year is the Government shutdown. I haven't seen any official statement, but suspect the civilian staff may be on furlough.
