Hello everyone! I am currently working on my nomination packet and have a question regarding SAT scores. It has come to my attention that I need to have an official document of my scores go along with my packet as well as have my scores sent directly from the College Board. Could someone please explain to me how to receive documentation of my scores? thanks so much!

The MOC should have supplied a code. You need to contact college board, submit the code, and pay the fee.

If you are taking it in the fall, you can just place their code for the free scores sent by them.

I agree with PIMA. If you have an online account at College Board, you go online and navigate to the SAT Score section. There is an option for sending the official scores. Each College and Member of has a Code (you can locate this info on the College Board website as well), enter the USNA code and pay about $15 (not sure of cost) for each and you should be good.

Thanks! But any idea how I get a hard copy of my sat scores? An official one that I can mail along with my nomination packet? I can't find information on this anywhere

You can print out a screen shot if there isn't another option. I think we did that for one of the applications.

From the College Board site: "Your official score report will be provided to you and your high school about five weeks after the test. Students who register online and wish to receive a paper score report by mail in addition to the online score report must request it when they register." (emphasis added) You can print a copy from the site for your package (screenshot) but back it up by also requesting that an electronic copy be sent to the MOC's office.

If you have an online account and you have associated your SAT test ID number with your account, you will have an option online to VIEW and SEND Scores. In the view option, you can download your scores as a PDF file to keep for your records, and/or send it to the Congressman but KEEP IN MIND THESE COPIES are UNOFFICIAL. My DS sent in both UNOFFICIAL copy as a part of his application package AND paid to have College board to send the Congressman the Official scores.

We did not send an "official" hard copy - just a screen shot of the scores. The "official" one is really what the College Board sends directly to USNA. Good luck!

I would contact the MOC SA person. Typically there is a direct contact number. Ask them directly if it has to be sealed and straight from collegeboard?

I know for my DS, he was able to do the screenshot.

I also know that for all 3 of my kids, their sealed transcript that every college requires, like the MOCs, has in their records the dates and scores of their SAT/ACT. Hence, the screen shot matched up to their official HS records.
~ I am not sure if you can not have your scores sent to your HS. We never did that, but I am guessing it is possible.

That brings me to a different approach. Have you contacted your GC? They may have the hard copy available and can print it for you.

I will contact my GC and if that doesn't work I will take the screen shot. Thanks so much!

If I remember correctly, both the SAT and ACT allow you to mail your results (as already stated). There's a search option which allows you to find your MOC, SA or University when you do this. It's all pretty simple and straightforward. The MOCs didn't want DD to send a hardcopy because it wasn't "official." They wanted it directly from the testing authorities.

My MOC did not want the hardcopy from me. They wanted the official one mailed directly from the College Board.

As you can see from above there is no rule. Our Senators required copies direct from ACT/ SAT, but I'm pretty sure the Congressman was okay with copies my DS provided in his packet. YMMV.
