Has anyone received a nomination from a Senator for an academy you did list as a preferred academy? I got an nomination today but it was not one of my 2 picks. The email stated they were limited on slots for my preferred academies and would like to offer me what they had available. Thanks

If you haven't started an application with the Academy for which you have a nomination, I would do that immediately. You will have plenty of time between now and spring to decide if that particular Academy and more importantly, that military career, is right for you. Perhaps the 3rd choice has a career field you haven't explored yet. It is possible the MOC, the MOC's committee, or whomever developed the nominations list saw something in you or your resume that led them to recommending the 3rd choice as opposed to just declining you altogether. In any event, should you chose to apply to the 3rd choice, you have a nomination and time so get going and congrats.
