Everything on my application is finished except the nomination and DoDMERB.

My Congresswoman has deemed me an "alternate" for nominations.

Since the deadline, I have successfully completed my essays, CFA, and have improved my SAT score from a 1270 to a 1330. I also started track and was elected an NHS officer, which was something I did not list in my application.

Should I make them aware of this?

The SAT improvement is stellar, nice job! However, at this point it's really too late to change anything with your Congresswoman, all you can do is really just wait. Others may be able to weigh in here, but I haven't heard of a case where a MoC have changed nomination choices in light of any new achievements. As far as I'm aware your position as an alternate means you still have a nomination, just that you are not the principal nominee is all, there is most definitely a chance you can still get accepted so need not worry!

Realistically, the only piece that could potentially matter to your congresswoman is track, NHS, and your test score. The other things are generally not important to a MOC, as they are admissions pieces.

So basically, would track, NHS and an increase in your test score garner you a principal NOM, or higher slate ranking, is the question, as you do already have a nom.

That’s a question no one can answer here. One thing, would be IF your MOC even considers additional material after their deadlines. That should be reflected in the instructions. I also HIGHLY doubt that any MOC would take away a ranking (or a principal designation) from someone else, to assign to you. Assuming they have selected their slate, which it sounds like they have.

If their slate is already decided and they have notified their winners, I wouldn’t contact them. It won’t matter.

Have you been notified of any Senatorial noms? Did you apply for all others you are eligible for??

On my file, it doesn’t say I have a nomination. I have not heard back from my senators and applied for everything I was eligible for.

As you already saw in the main Nom thread, Senator Rubio has apparently sent out letters to some getting a nom. Did you interview with him or Scott?

Well, looks like you could still be in the running with Rubio yet and maybe Scott if he hasn't contacted anyone so far for interviews. You already know the situation with your Congresswoman.

They all have until 1/31/21 to figure it out and submit their choices.

You have until the last day to get in. Don't give up but make sure your Plan, B, C and D are strong.

Thanks for the advice

Another thought - maybe you should contact Scott's office and see what they say, if they received your app, status, etc.

A polite, yet squeaky wheel.......

I have sent them emails to update them on my accomplishments but they’re not responding unfortunately. We’ll see what they say because they sent out letters in November and early December.

Got it. A polite call cannot hurt at this point.
