Just wondering about something and invite the input of other members.....
I'm sure it's fair to say that most of us on this board are waiting for acceptance to or have been accepted by one or more SA. But I bet it's also safe to say that most applicants applied to one or more other schools as backup.
For purposes of acceptance or in applying for financial aid from those "backup" schools, does a congressional nomination carry any weight at all? And how would one let the other schools know that an applicant has received a nomination (assuming they would want to know and without sounding arrogant)?
I would not bring it up but we were at a college Open House (non SA) and during a presentation by the admissions director it was specifically stated that "if you get a nomination to a service academy, I want to know about it".
Anyone?
