Hello! Do you need several nominations if you plan to apply to all the service academies? Is it more of you just need one person (Senator, Congressman, Vice-President, etc.) to nominate you to all the service academies you've applied to? Would you need to attend several interviews for each nominator for each Academy? Thank you for your help.

You need one nomination per SA that you’re applying to. Doesn’t matter who it comes from. All can come from one MOC, or one per SA can come from different MOCs. Not all MOCs interview. Those who do so require just one interview, regardless of how many SAs you’re applying to.

I see that you’re new and that your four posts ask pretty basic things. As a sophomore, take a deep breath and go visit the websites for each SA. Read every page, link, tab and pulldown. You’ll get 97%
of your questions answered just like that.

Also read the stickies at the top of this forum. Tons of helpful, basic info.

Search before you post please. You started 4 separate threads in a matter of 5 minutes. Each question you have asked has been answered many times before.

btw, all CAPS is the equivalent of yelling.

Great advice above from @MidCakePa . Dig into your primary sources at the SA.edu websites. This is the time to take detailed notes and build out your plan of action items and due dates. Read every page, link and menu item.

In general, you only need one nomination for each application. But the SAs recommend you apply for all for which you are eligible. That usually means 2 Senators, 1 Representative, the VP, and any service-related noms you are eligible for, plus JROTC or ROTC if a college applicant. If you go browse the Nominations forum, start with the Sticky at the very top.

Note: USCGA does not participate in the nom process. USMMA has some variations on who the noms can come from

You should also go to your elected officials’ websites and read about their SA processes. They have autonomy on due dates, interviews, application format, etc., except for when their slates (lists of nominees) are due to the SAs. Some may have information sessions, presumably virtual right now.

The application process is a test in itself over an extended period. Your efforts in researching complex processes at the primary sources, planning and executing task lists with due dates, organizing the information, all take attention to detail, perseverance, discipline and patience. Good luck!
