Nominations (GA)

You said that your DD got another nom for Air Force as well as her navy nom(from Chambliss), did your DD get the Air Force nom from Chambliss as well or another MOC?
 
The other nomination came from Congressman Graves. We never got a letter, it just showed up on the USAFA portal. Hope that helps.
 
follow up...

quck follow up.....nomination letter from Congressman Graves arrived today. Mail must have been held up by the holidays.
 
DS had his nomination interview with our Rep. on Dec. 8. He was told he did very well and that he was a strong candidate( also was told he was one of top academic candidates). He is trying for USNA and USAFA but the Major on the panel kept trying to sell him on USMA so he was a bit confused about that. Overall he was all smiles when he left the interview. Now we can start the nail biting on this to go along with the NROTC and AFROTC scholarships.

When did you guys begin your nomination applications?

DD began the overall DD app for USNA around May and had it completed in July. Began nom apps in July and had everything submitted by 9/1. Appointment for USNA arrived last week so the payoff was big to get the app early. My daughter is not a recruited athlete, so she figured, earlier the better.

That's great. Since you're local I am sure my daughter would be happy to help you in any way she can. She's lived through the app process and has learned all the in's and out's. Best of luck to you and it's wise for you to start asking the right questions now.

This is from Sen. Isakson's Nomination page, what does it mean by "contact"?
 
Reach out to Nancy Brooks at the Senator's office. She is awesome. She can give you the schedule for Academy Day in GA, a very useful day for learning about all the academies (she is the lead for the whole things), she can give you dates for when apps will be accepted, and even provide guidance regarding the kinds of people the office nominates.
 
I kniw this thread is a little bit old but I had a question about the nominatikns here in Georgia.

I recieved nominations to USNA and USMMA from Senator Chambliss the other day. I just interviewed with Congressman Gingrey's board yesterday which I think went incredibly well. But during my interview, I disclosed that I already had those nominations. I also have NJROTC nominations to USNA as well as WP. Should I expect to not recieve nominations from Gingrey to USNA and USMMA? USNA is my first choice, WP second, and USMMA is third. I have heard that multiple nominations to one Academy helps with admissions so I really hope to get the nom to USNA.
