Ok so I've looked all over the USAFA Website, and tried looking on this forum however, I would appreciate clearer information.
Here's what I would appreciate knowing more about: VP
1) How many recommendation letters do I need to send for this application?
On the website, it says to send nomination letters to USAFA but I can't find how many. The plan is to send three just in case since that's the most I've seen for any recommendation applications.
2) To request to be put on the list. Is the application the thing I fill out when I click "Service Academies Application Form" on the VP website?
3) If not could someone please direct me to where I need to go?

For the President Nomination:
1) Do I need to print the "FORMAT OF REQUEST FOR MILITARY-AFFILIATED NOMINATION"? It needs a signature and other information confirming my parent's Active Duty information, but I could scan upload that information in an email.
2) If I do need to print, do I send it to the address at the top?

Thank You for the Help, Have a lovely day/night!

I can't speak to the Presidential nom, but I can to the VP.

Go to:
https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-trump-administration/academy-nominations/

Midway through the page are these links.

Click on the the Service Academies Application Form and it will take you to the form that is filled out online. It's mostly contact information, but then ask for 3 hobbies/3 Life Goals and then a maximum 3500 character essay on why you want to attend one of the military academies. You will want to have this already written, spellchecked, characters counted, etc and just copy into the online form, because it isn't a form that you can "work on", save and come back to. Once you've done that, you're done!

When it discusses sending things to the actual academies, it's referring to all of the things that you already have to do for you application, nothing more. There are no additional recommendation letters needed, they'll use the ones sent to the academy.

Best of luck to you!

Ok thanks! that's the link I was talking about Thanks for the confirmation. I wish they would be a bit clearer about the recommendation letters next time but I guess that's why awesome people like you guys exist!

Believe me...we had lots of help through the process. The whole "it takes a village" quote definitely applies when applying to a SA! Not being an active military family, we had to learn a lot of lingo, rules and requirements that we'd never heard or seen before.

Thankful that there is a lot of information in this forum and lots of knowledgeable people who are willing to help!

I'm submitting my VP nomination application soon. I did this last year, but never received a verification. I just clicked submit, and the form reset. Does this mean that the application went through? Or did something mess up. I don't want the same thing to happen this year, and applying for the VP nomination is part of the Falcon Scholarship, and I want to make sure that they can see that I did in fact apply with the VP.

Regarding the Presidential Nomination, you should be able to get all of your parent's supporting documents in order and email them to your admissions counselor. I had no difficulty doing this with USAFA and USMA, but USNA ignored my requests for clarification to the point that I simply printed out the documents and sent them in a priority envelope.

If you do need to mail it, depending on what they want, send it to the address on the request form.
