My congressional district has already come out with a list of 4 candidates who were awarded a nomination for the class of 2025. I have yet to apply for a nomination. Is this a sign that my district is competitive? I’m a bit confused.

I can't be sure without seeing the info but I seriously doubt that this is the case. You need to CALL the district office (not email or text) and speak with the person who manages the Service Academy nominations. In a normal year, this would be WAY early and actually earlier than many open their applications but this is not a normal year and lots of things have been shut down so it would make it even less likely for them to have already conducted their selection process.

CALL THEM ASAP

As @OldRetSWO says, call immediately to confirm the application deadline. I’m 99.9% positive that the app window has not closed, and that you’re somehow misunderstanding the situation.

In any case, other than the deadline having passed (which again, I highly doubt), you should be fine. This means nothing in terms of competitiveness, because it only takes one candidate with better credentials than you to make your district competitive.

Try not to read too much Into this, especially because someone else’s nomination is out of your control. Worry about what you can control, nothing else. Shortly after nom slates were submitted, DD was invited to a nominees reception hosted by our MOC. There she met four — four! — nominees who’d already received offer of appointment to her preferred SA. She was distraught and ready to throw in the towel. Couple weeks later, she received an LOA. She’s now a plebe-summer detailers.
