CANDIDATE AWARENESS SEMINAR

LOCATION: USS HORNET FLOATING MUSEUM
Former Naval Air Station Alameda
Alameda, California
DATE: Sunday, November 21, 2010
TIME: 1200 – 1600 (12:00 Noon – 4:00 PM)

You and your family are cordially invited to attend the Candidate Awareness Seminar in USS Hornet. We will have a number of Midshipmen on hand to share their Naval Academy experiences with you. Please come and interact with them directly. It’s one of the best opportunities you’ll have to help you decide if attending USNA is the right choice for you.

The seminar will be sponsored/hosted by the San Francisco Chapter of the Alumni Association. As such, there is no charge to attend. A number of alumni and Blue & Gold Officers will be in attendance to help answer your questions. Directions are provided herein for your convenience.

If you have any questions, please call CAPT Scott Perkins at 925-423-0580 during the day, or
925-829-8974 in the evening.

BUMP

Just a reminder that this program takes place this Sunday.

One addtional item: If you are a cadidate and want more informtion about life at the Academy; there will be Midshipman at the event to answer questions. It's part of their OP-Info. assignments for Thanksgiving week.

I sure wish our mid could have gotten this OpInfo assignment. Our younger son is voicing interest in attending USNA. We want to make sure that he really wants to attend for himself and not just because older brother is doing it. Is this something we should take him to?

That's why they have the program. You've been through the process once so you know what to expect and what it takes. There are a surprising number of kids with siblings at the Academy. If it's not a big deal to attend, let the younger son start to make up his own mind.
