North Carolina Nominations

Just got the call from Hagan's staffer today informing me that I received a nomination for USNA. Yesterday Jones nominated me to the big three.

Becareful what you announce on threads like this because it is easy to find your real identity.

For example, almost all of the MOCs will announce in their press release (available on line) who they gave noms to and to what SA. So it is easy to figure out by putting certain districts and how many noms plus to what SAs, who you actually are.

That is never a wise thing when it comes to anonymous boards.

Back on topic, and congrats. I am shocked that Jones gave 3 noms., when we went through it yrs ago, it was a 1 nom only deal.

Good advice pima.

I just got a letter today from Brad Miller that I had been nominated to USMA and USNA.

That makes two nominations to USMA from Hagan and Miller!

I received an e-mail from one of Burr's staffers asking if I had LOA's and a nomination from another source (which I did)

how long ago?

he must be cutting off people who already have a nomination

I believe it was sent sometime friday.

I know in my case it would be redundant with an LOA in hand

Received an email today that I have an interview with Burr's selection board!!!

DS received offer of appointment to USMA in mail yesterday. Also received formal letter of nom to USNA from Hagan's office and a letter from our Congressman's office to congratulate him. The letter stated that the congressman had been advised that DS was being offered appointment at USNA, USAFA, and USMA. Big mail day at our house. Now the decision is his to make. :thumb:

I was wondering if anyone had heard back from David Price NC District 04? I received a letter a few weeks ago informing me that I was selected as one of ten competing for an appointment, but have not heard anything since.

Traditionally that is all you will hear. Not every MOC will call you, so don't put too much weight into not hearing anything.

Congrats on the nom.

That was our experience.....my cadet only had a phone call from an aide telling him of his nomination. Never heard from the senator at any point or ever again. However, he did receive a nice certificate and letter of congratulations from our congressman who also had a nice reception in honor of all of the service academy appointees.

When Dole was a Senator, she was the only one we heard from again. She also gave a lovely reception in Feb for all of her noms, and actually took the time to meet and greet the families personally.

Butterfield actually didn't even send out his nom congrat letter for about 3 months after it appeared on the AFA portal.

Burr was very quick to send out his nom letter after the interview. I think DS had in hand by the end of the following week. Than again the interview was in January so the clock was ticking.

Another happy day. Last night the mailbox contained the third BFE. DS truly blessed. Prayers of thanks for his good fortune and prayers for good news to all the nice families who we have learned from on this forum. Truly a wealth of information.

:groupwave:

Senator Kay Hagan's nominees

They are all posted on her web site, with all of the 40 names. The primary gets me confused. Is a primary chosen for each academy, or one out of the 40? She had 275 applications so congrats to the 40 selected!

Forgot to ask

I think Virginia Foxx will be conducting interviews on Jan 29th. She represents the 5th district of NC. Does anyone have a time, yet or do you have an interview time is what I meant to say. Sorry.

Looked at Kay Hagan's nom list and my XC teammate is on there for USNA. I'm very excited for him.
