Northwestern Preparatory C/O 2020

To all the parents on this thread, thank you for your unconditional love and support through this challenging semester. We could not have done it without you all there to support us. To my fellow NWPrepsters who still visit this forum (if there are any), we did it!! Looking forward to continued friendship and camaraderie throughout the following months, and when we arrive to our respective academies.

Anyways, I have four months of sleep to catch up on, great job to everyone!

Also, if by the off chance the Durbecks or any NWP Instructors happen to read this, thank for you all you have done to prepare us for our futures as Cadets or Midshipmen. We know this was very difficult for you all as well, and we are so thankful for the enriching preparatory experience that you have provided us with.
Nicely stated! You prepsters will continue to impress over the years to come!

Ignore the date and late hour, wishing all a Merry Christmas and blessed New Year!!

Hoping all this year's prepsters have received or will receive a nom. soon and in about 7-8 weeks we're all posting news of an appointment on the Class of 2025 thread for our respective SA.

Best to all.

Are there any NWP prepsters on this thread that would be willing to speak with me about the program? From the research I’ve done, I’m really interested in NWP, but if I don’t receive a USMA AOG Scholarship then I’m gonna have trouble deciding between NWP and a first semester of college.

I was a USAFA Falcon Scholar, but send me a pm and we can talk. Everyone goes through the same program no matter the academy you are applying for.

My daughter was a self prep at NWP and is now a cow at USMA. She did not have a scholarship from any academy. Please feel free to contact me by private message.

We are now in February! If previous trends hold to be true, NWP Falcons should know their appointment status in about 2 short weeks. Hope everyone's semester is going well and we are all looking forward to some good news!

DW and I just had this conversation this morning. It's already February!? While we know the waiting days are long for you NWP Falcons, we parents just wish the weeks would slow down some.

I just did my semester at NWP. I would be happy to answer any questions!

It is worth noting however, that some of our friends from NWP that are Falcon Scholars, did receive the TWE before the Foundation offer. It's one of those things that may be different for everyone.
Did you get a TWE before you got a foundation scholarship?
I am also interested in this question.

DS did not receive the TWE but was notified of his FFS the day after the mass distribution of TWEs went out. Plenty of FFS folks from last year on the forum who are willing to answer your questions. Good luck.

Do you know what was the general reason you guys did not get a direct appointment, or were there a lot of different reasons for different people?

I don't think we are never told the reason we were given Falcon Foundation Scholarships over a direct appt. I think it’s different for everyone, I’ll be happy to share my theories about myself. I had good CFA scores, and all the extracurriculars were there (3 year wrestling captain, JROTC CO, lots of community service, etc) but my GPA and SAT scores didn’t look good. I had a super high GPA compared to “meh” SAT scores. I also didn’t have a nomination to USAFA, only had one to USNA.
