One of the most poignant days of my adult life! I was thoroughly impressed by the organization of the in-processing stations as well as the professionalism displayed by the Cadre, Staff and Administration of Norwich. I feel a sense of comfort, pride and joy knowing my son made the right choice to attend Norwich University!

Congrats, x86USMA!! Here is the scene at Norwich on arrival day after the parents left.

All of the cadets who started at SMCs this past weekend are truly to be congratulated. They are embarking on an initially scary but truly rewarding journey! This week will be a bit rougher than most, but everyone should know that things get easier (from your user name, x86USMA, it appears that you've already been through this!).

Yes, a very long time ago, I experienced a similar experience indeed!

Does anyone know whether Norwich has a webcam in the tower? Here's the scene from yesterday, but still photos aren't as interesting as a live video feed:

They had a couple of webcams on their site

I hope you get a call from your Rooks Sunday Night. They will be fine. Norwich has some very fine men and women taking care of them. Parents, when you talk to them on the phone remind them how important the grades are that first semester. Make some friends there. The rooks definately will not be going to be keg parties. Tell them to use their time wisely and have great grades this first semester. If they study its less time they have to not cut corners.

Good luck to all of them

webcams

Yes, webcams from Jackman Hall with UP zoom and from Hawkins Hall. I have seen some good D&C and PT from the UP zoom!! Hooah! Great training, brings back memories for sure.

One more thing Norwich Rook parents

Go to Norwich Parent's Weekend. September 23 to 25. Vermont is spectacular. Its a great Norwich Experience. The rooks can leave with you overnight saturday. Its amazing to watch the child you raised have such an appreciation for TV, car rides and dinner out. It will be greatly appreciated by your rook and you will enjoy the experience.

The Webcams

Are nice to see live shots of where your cadet is living. It does get to be "Where's Waldo" with all these kids in uniform.
